Short answer: TikTok Creator Rewards is available to eligible creators in selected countries who use a personal account, are at least 18 years old, have at least 10,000 followers, and received at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days. Eligible videos must be original, high-quality, at least one minute long, and posted after joining. A video begins earning after 1,000 qualified For You feed views. Pay is estimated as qualified views divided by 1,000 multiplied by the video's RPM; neither visible views nor another creator's RPM reliably predicts your payout.

Verified July 2026. Program availability, eligibility, and payout mechanics change by market. Use TikTok Studio and the official Creator Rewards help pages for the account.

A million-view video can earn zero

That can happen without a math error.

The creator may not have joined before publishing. The video may be under one minute, sponsored, unoriginal, a Duet or Stitch, or outside the eligible formats. Its traffic may not come from qualified For You views. The account may be ineligible or in a market where the program is not available.

Creator Rewards has four filters:

  1. Is the creator and account eligible?
  2. Is the individual video eligible?
  3. Which views are qualified?
  4. What RPM did TikTok assign to those qualified views?

Start at the first failed filter. “TikTok didn't pay me for my views” is too broad to diagnose.

Creator Rewards requirements

TikTok's current rules generally require a creator to:

  • live in a country where Creator Rewards is available;
  • be at least 18 years old, or 19 in South Korea under the current regional rule;
  • use a Personal Account, not a Business Account;
  • have authentic account information;
  • keep the account in good standing without repeated or serious violations;
  • have at least 10,000 followers;
  • have at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days;
  • comply with Creator Rewards terms and TikTok policies.

TikTok's program terms currently identify Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States among supported markets. Availability can change and residency matters. A VPN or profile-country edit is not a legitimate substitute for eligibility.

Apply through TikTok Studio

On an eligible account:

  1. Open the TikTok app and go to your profile.
  2. Open the menu and select TikTok Studio.
  3. Choose Creator Rewards Program under monetization.
  4. Review eligibility, terms, and application status.
  5. Complete identity, tax, and payout details when prompted.

TikTok says applicants usually receive a response after review. Use the in-app appeal or support path if the stated rejection reason is incorrect. Do not pay a third party for “guaranteed” acceptance.

Which videos qualify

An eligible Creator Rewards video generally must:

  • be uploaded after the creator joins the program;
  • be at least one minute long;
  • be original and high quality;
  • comply with Community Guidelines, copyright rules, and program terms;
  • reach at least 1,000 qualified views in the For You feed;
  • remain eligible and available under the current program.

TikTok excludes several categories, including sponsored content, paid promotions, Duets, Stitches, and Photo Mode posts. Videos created for TikTok One campaigns are not a way to double-dip into Creator Rewards. Campaign payment and program rewards are separate systems.

The one-minute rule is a minimum, not a creative concept. Padding a weak idea with a long intro can reduce qualified attention. The video should need the time because it tells a story, explains a decision, demonstrates a process, or resolves a question.

Original means more than technically edited

TikTok describes original content as designed, filmed, and produced by the creator. It excludes copied content, lightly modified reposts, watermarked material from others, compilations without new and personal ideas, looping videos, single or multiple photos, or only text overlays in covered cases.

The most durable standard is simple: could the audience explain what this creator contributed?

Strong contribution can include:

  • firsthand reporting or experience;
  • a distinct explanation or argument;
  • original filming and demonstration;
  • meaningful commentary that changes what the viewer learns;
  • a narrative built by the creator;
  • specialist knowledge applied to a real question.

Adding subtitles to someone else's clip may improve accessibility. It does not necessarily make the underlying work original for rewards.

What is a qualified view?

TikTok calculates rewards from qualified For You feed views, not every visible play.

Its current guidance excludes views that are:

  • fraudulent or artificially generated;
  • paid or promoted;
  • watched for fewer than five seconds;
  • from accounts that marked the video as not interested;
  • otherwise disqualified under the program's view-integrity rules.

Qualified views are unique under TikTok's rules, so repeat watching from the same account does not keep creating a new qualified view in the same way a raw play counter might suggest.

The first 1,000 qualified For You views are the threshold at which an eligible video begins generating rewards. A video can show more than 1,000 total views and still fail to reach 1,000 qualified For You views.

How TikTok Creator Rewards pay is calculated

The useful formula is:

Estimated rewards = qualified views ÷ 1,000 × RPM

If an eligible video has 600,000 qualified views and a $0.72 RPM:

600,000 ÷ 1,000 × $0.72 = $432 estimated rewards

Use the RPM shown for the eligible video or program period. Do not insert a rate from a screenshot on another account.

What affects RPM

TikTok says the rewards formula considers factors including:

  • video performance and play duration;
  • search value;
  • audience engagement;
  • viewer location;
  • advertising value;
  • content quality and specialization.

TikTok also describes an additional reward component for well-crafted, engaging, and specialized content. The exact formula and weight are not public. That makes a universal “TikTok pays X per 1,000” claim unreliable.

Build a range from your own account

For each eligible video, record:

  • total visible views;
  • qualified views;
  • qualified-view percentage;
  • RPM;
  • estimated and final rewards;
  • average watch time and completion signals;
  • search traffic or search topic;
  • audience country mix;
  • any eligibility notice.

Use several comparable videos to build low, base, and high RPM scenarios. Keep unusually viral or disqualified posts out of the baseline unless you can explain why they are representative.

Search value matters, but do not write for a robot

Creator Rewards gives search value an explicit role in the formula. That makes useful searchable videos attractive: answers, comparisons, walkthroughs, explainers, and informed opinions on questions people keep asking.

SEO does not mean repeating the keyword in every sentence. It means understanding the decision behind the search and answering it better than the existing results.

A good one-minute-plus structure is:

  1. state the specific question or tension;
  2. give the answer early;
  3. show the evidence, process, or example;
  4. explain the condition that would change the answer;
  5. end when the job is complete.

That structure serves search and watch time because the viewer immediately knows the video is relevant and has a reason to stay for the explanation.

Why a video gets disqualified

Common categories include:

  • non-original or low-quality content;
  • a video under one minute;
  • sponsored or paid promotional content;
  • a Duet, Stitch, or excluded format;
  • copyright or Community Guidelines violations;
  • fake views, followers, or engagement;
  • dangerous, deceptive, or otherwise ineligible content;
  • account information or residency that does not meet program terms;
  • deletion or removal of content before rewards are settled.

Use the reason shown in TikTok Studio. A low RPM is not the same as a disqualification. A video with zero qualified views is not necessarily a policy strike. Diagnose the actual status.

Appeal with evidence

If TikTok gives an appeal option, submit it within the stated window. Keep the message short and specific:

  • identify the video;
  • quote the stated reason;
  • explain why the content meets the rule;
  • state what was filmed, written, or produced by the creator;
  • attach or retain source files, project files, licenses, and publication history where relevant.

Do not argue that a video deserves payment because it took a long time. Show why it meets the eligibility rule TikTok says it failed.

Keep other TikTok revenue separate

TikTok One

TikTok One campaigns pay creators under brand campaign terms such as base payment, revenue share, or a hybrid. Sponsored campaign content is not standard Creator Rewards inventory. Our TikTok One guide for brands explains that system.

TikTok Shop Affiliate

Shop affiliates earn seller-set commission on eligible attributed product sales. Returns and refunds can reverse commission. Our TikTok Shop Affiliate guide covers access and first sales.

Direct sponsorships

A direct brand fee is negotiated around the audience, creative, rights, deliverables, and performance evidence. It should not be buried inside a Creator Rewards RPM calculation.

Separating revenue sources lets the creator see which format creates distribution, which converts, and which is being paid by the platform.

Payout timing

TikTok's current help guidance says creators need to complete payout and tax setup and meet the applicable minimum balance. In supported markets, monthly rewards are generally processed on the 15th for the prior eligible period when the balance meets the current minimum, commonly listed as $10 or local equivalent.

Payment-provider processing can add time. Check the program dashboard for the exact estimated reward, final balance, threshold, payout account, and date applicable to the creator's country.

Do not spend estimated rewards before they settle. Disqualifications, policy decisions, invalid activity, and adjustments can change the amount.

Find the first failed filter

Open Creator Rewards in TikTok Studio and audit ten recent one-minute-plus posts through the four filters: account, video, qualified views, RPM. The first failed filter tells you what to fix. If all four pass, use the creator's own RPM range to plan instead of borrowing someone else's screenshot.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many followers do you need for TikTok Creator Rewards?

TikTok currently requires at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, along with age, country, personal-account, authenticity, and good-standing requirements.

How long does a TikTok video need to be to earn Creator Rewards?

At least one minute. It also needs to be original, high quality, posted after joining, in an eligible format, and reach 1,000 qualified For You views.

What is a good TikTok Creator Rewards RPM?

There is no responsible universal benchmark. RPM varies with qualified view behavior, search value, audience location, engagement, ad value, and content. Compare the creator's own eligible videos over similar periods.

Why did my one-million-view video earn nothing?

Check whether it was posted after enrollment, at least one minute, original, unsponsored, an eligible format, and over 1,000 qualified For You views. Then check the account and video's disqualification notices.

Do paid or promoted views count?

TikTok says paid and promoted views are not qualified views for Creator Rewards. Artificial or fraudulent views are also excluded and can create enforcement risk.

Can TikTok Shop videos earn Creator Rewards?

Sponsored and paid promotional content is excluded under Creator Rewards rules. Treat Shop affiliate commission and Creator Rewards as separate, and use the status shown for the specific video.
