Quick answer

YouTube can show an eligible channel to brands without channel insights sharing. Turning it on gives brands more facts and may help them find you. It cannot make a brand want to hire you.

Keep your public facts, Media Kit, work email, and proof up to date. Treat each enquiry, fee, access request, and Open Call brief as its own business choice.

Verified July 2026. Creator Partnerships and Open Call are changing fast. Check the linked YouTube pages before you act.

Being seen and being ready are not the same

Many creators ask, "How do I get found?" That skips a few steps.

A brand must find you. Then it must get what you do. It must trust that you can help. Last, it must think the likely result is worth the cost.

More views at step one will not fix a gap at step three or four.

Step What the brand wants to know What you can change
Find Does this channel look close enough to review? Share channel data if you want to. Keep public facts right. Make your main topics clear.
Get it Who watches? What do they need? Where can the product fit? Use your bio, Media Kit, and real work to show this.
Trust Is there proof that the creator can make people care or act? Show sound past work, recent results, and sponsor outcomes that fit.
Qualify Can the brand pay for this and accept the terms? Set a suggested fee, use a live email, and reply with clear facts.
Commit Do the work, rights, risk, and money work for both sides? Ask good questions. Vet the product. Negotiate. Read the deal.

This is why some discovery tips get silly. A low suggested fee is not a brand story. Sharing all your data does not tell a buyer why your fans need the product. An Open Call invite is not a paid job.

Check if your channel can use Creator Partnerships

YouTube says the tab will show under YouTube Studio → Earn when your channel meets all of these rules:

Rule What YouTube now requires
Age You must be at least 18.
Ad revenue You must be in the YouTube Partner Program and eligible for ad-revenue sharing.
Place You must be based in one of 24 supported markets.
Channel status You cannot have an active Community Guidelines strike.
Ongoing rules You must follow YouTube's ad, money, platform, and community rules.

The 24 markets are Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

One detail trips people up. The wider Partner Program gives some small channels early access to fan pay and Shopping. That does not always give them Creator Partnerships.

The Creator Partnerships rules still ask for ad-share status.

If the tab is gone, check the basics first. Check the channel, account, place, YPP status, ad-share status, age, and strikes. YouTube also says the tool can look different by country.

What channel insights sharing does

Channel insights sharing is a setting for YPP creators around the world. It only works on a desktop. Official Artist Channels cannot use it. The switch is off by default.

Find it at YouTube Studio → Settings → Channel → Advanced settings → Channel insights sharing.

When it is on, Google-approved brands, ad buyers, and tools can see aggregated channel data. This can include Creator Partnerships, Google Ads Insights Finder, and Google Merchant Center.

When it is off, brands can still find you. YouTube says they may use public facts such as your name, follower count, and views. Eligible creators can still get enquiries with the switch off.

This is not a vague promise to "share more." YouTube lists the data.

Data group What YouTube says it may share
Channel work and results Public videos, playlist adds, views, watch time, unique viewers, likes, comments, shares, and topic categories.
Channel facts Channel ID, name, thumbnail, country, language, creation date, subscribers, latest upload time, Creator Partnerships status, public emails, and social links.
Audience Gender, age bands, places, content type, buyer interests, affinity interests, household income, and parent status.
Shopping, when used Sales, gross merchandise value, tagged-video results, new subscribers from tagged videos, tagged products, and merchants.

That is a lot of data. We would turn it on if you are at ease with those fields going to approved users. Good facts help a serious buyer judge fit. The data may also keep bad matches out of your inbox. That is useful too.

Still, make the choice on purpose. Read YouTube's channel insights guide. Check the data in your own Studio.

Past data may still be shared under other terms. YouTube says this may happen if you took Creator Partnerships terms or linked a third party through YouTube Analytics. Turning off this one switch may not end those old grants.

Do not mix up these two settings:

  • Channel insights sharing gives grouped channel, audience, and Shopping data for search.
  • Brand partner access gives one ad account video-level data. It can also let that brand run the video as an ad.

Those are two rights. Each has a different effect on your business.

There is no secret profile trick

YouTube gives eligible creators a Creator Partnerships area. It also gives them a Media Kit, fee settings, and a second work contact.

Its public guide does not list a free-form sales field. It also does not say that a low fee or magic phrase helps you rank.

So do not tune a field that does not exist.

Your pitch still matters. Brands see it in your bio, topics, Media Kit picks, past work, public email, and your first reply.

Use the Media Kit to explain your value

YouTube's Media Kit is open to all YPP creators on desktop. It may show your banner and bio, top audience and Shopping categories, channel stats, paid product placement videos, and top videos.

You can edit some cards. You can:

  • pick up to five audience categories on each category card;
  • pick up to four videos on each video card;
  • hide a card, even when you cannot edit it;
  • preview the file; and
  • save it as a PDF.

Four video spots force you to choose. Do not just pick your four biggest hits. Pick four that answer the brand's main questions.

Role What the video should prove
Audience fit The people the brand wants care about this topic.
Creative fit You can add a product without wrecking the video.
Result fit The result is normal enough to help set a fair goal.
Brand fit A past paid post worked, if you have one you can share.

One video may do two jobs. That is fine. Build a case, not a hall of fame.

Creators often make themselves look like a plain product. A Media Kit that says "big business audience" gives a buyer little to use. The buyer can only rank you by size and cost.

Be more exact. What choice is your audience trying to make? Why do they trust you on that choice? What proof says they may act on this sort of product?

You may need to state this in your bio, pitch, or reply. The Media Kit has fixed parts. That is fine. You do not need to act as if YouTube has a field it does not have.

Use your desired rate as a filter

YouTube lets you add a suggested fee for long videos and Shorts. It calls these desired or preferred rates. It also says the number in a brand enquiry comes from the brand. It is not a final offer.

YouTube has not said that your rate changes search rank. Do not cut it just to please a guess about the tool.

A rate only makes sense once you know the ask. A normal post is one product. A full video with a rush, rival ban, edits, and 90 days of paid use is a very different one.

If you keep a rate in the tool, write down what it buys. This keeps you from bidding against yourself.

Our view is not "get the most money today." A fair deal should give the brand room to win. It should also give you enough upside to care and do great work.

Proof that you can drive the result a brand wants can support a higher fee. With little proof, a clear first test may make sense. But do not give away work and paid use by calling the whole bundle a test.

Keep your contact route simple

Creator Partnerships lets you add a second work contact. This may be a manager or agent. That person gets a copy of each enquiry. People with account access can also manage deals in Studio.

Keep both email addresses live. Pick the person who will reply. Set a fair reply time. Make sure that person knows what facts to get before they show interest.

The tool cannot help if the email sits in a dead inbox.

An agent can get facts and work on terms. You still make the choice. Good help should mean less admin and more facts. It should not mean less say over your own work.

A 30-minute check

You do not need a full brand redo. Start with this.

Minutes 0–5: check access and data

  • Open Studio → Earn → Creator Partnerships on the right channel.
  • Check the rules above if the tab is gone.
  • Check if channel insights sharing is on or off.
  • Read the data list and make a real choice.

Minutes 5–12: fix the contact path

  • Test your public work email.
  • Add or fix the second contact when someone helps with deals.
  • Send a test note.
  • Make sure both people know who replies first.
  • Remove an old manager or dead email.

Minutes 12–22: rebuild your Media Kit case

  • Open the PDF. Do not trust your memory.
  • Pick up to five useful categories on each category card.
  • Pick up to four videos on each video card. Know what each one proves.
  • Hide a card that gives the wrong idea.
  • Check if your bio names a real audience need or only a broad field.

Minutes 22–27: define the fee

  • Write what your long-video and Shorts rates include.
  • Split an organic post from paid use.
  • Note your usual time, edit rounds, and rival limits.
  • Do not move the number to chase a rank signal YouTube has not named.

Minutes 27–30: save these seven questions

  1. What result does the brand care about?
  2. Who does it need to reach?
  3. What does it want me to make?
  4. Where can it use the work, and for how long?
  5. Does it want paid use? If so, what is the spend cap?
  6. Who can give notes, and when is the work due?
  7. What result data will the brand share with me?

If the enquiry does not answer those points, it is a hello. It is not an offer you can price.

Ask for a call when the fit looks real. This is not a waste of time. You can hear how the brand thinks. You can explain your fans. You can also learn if a real partner is behind the card.

Bring the same care. Ask useful questions. Be clear about what will work. Treat the plan as something both sides can make better.

What to do when an enquiry comes in

Every enquiry card has basic brand facts and a possible pay amount. Some cards also list the goal, work, talking points, call to action, product facts, and pay terms.

If you click Interested, YouTube gives your contact facts to the brand. It does not accept the fee. It does not sign a deal. It does not grant rights.

You and the brand agree on the terms off the platform. The brand also pays you on its own for this kind of enquiry.

Use this check before you go on:

Question A good sign A sign to slow down
Does the product fit? It solves a need your fans already have. The only link is your broad niche.
Can you test it? You can use it before you make claims. The brand wants praise before you have the product.
Is the goal clear? The brand names one main action. It asks one post to drive reach, sales, hype, and ad assets.
Is the work clear? Format, dates, notes, and work are set. You see a fee but no clear scope.
Are rights split out? Organic use and paid use are each clear. "Brand partner access" means free use with no end date.
Does the fee make sense? Both sides can share the math behind it. The whole talk is "too high" versus "know your worth."
Can you work as a team? The brand answers questions and trusts you on your fans. It hides the ad, pushes bad claims, or will not explain a request.

The best brand work is a team effort. The brand knows its product. You know your fans.

If a request feels wrong, ask what the brand hopes to do. Do this before you call the request dumb. You may find a better route to the same goal.

If the brand will not explain itself, pay attention. If it asks you to ignore what you know about your fans, you can walk away.

Brand partner access still needs a deal

You can add brand partner access when you post or edit a video. A brand can also ask for it later.

YouTube says the brand can then see the video's organic data in Google Ads. The brand may also be able to run the linked video as an ad.

That button grants a technical permission. It does not prove the brand paid for usage rights.

Before you say yes, check the ad account, goal, ad types, term, place, spend cap, edit rights, renewal rule, and pay. If paid use is not in the signed deal, ask before you turn it on.

Our brand guide to YouTube Creator Partnerships covers the brand tool and workflow. Your rule is short: the tool grant must match the deal you approved.

Open Call is not a normal brand enquiry

Open Call is inside Creator Partnerships. But its deal works in a different way.

An invited creator gets a set brief. They make a Short and send it in. The brand selects the work it wants. Only selected creators get paid.

You do the work before you know if you will earn a fee. You also accept set content and use rules if the video is selected.

Think of this as a bid to make ad creative. It comes with a wide but time-bound ad license. It is not a brand asking if you might want a paid sponsor slot.

Who can use Open Call now

YouTube's creator guide says access is invite-only. You must:

  • be at least 18 under the Open Call terms;
  • live in the US, UK, or India;
  • be in YPP with an active AdSense account;
  • have 1,000 to 500,000 subscribers;
  • have posted one Short in the past 30 days; and
  • publish original, user-generated content.

YouTube says it may reject videos with AI-generated visuals. It may also reject content made by AI creators.

You may meet all the rules and still see no Open Call. That can mean no brief is open to you.

You can send one Short per project. YouTube says you may make small edits and send it once more when the brand asks. Upload it as unlisted. Mark it as paid promotion.

Read the terms before you make the Short

The Open Call rules matter much more than the short product pitch.

Term What the rule says What it means for you
Pick and notes A brand does not have to pick, pay, reply, or give notes. You may spend time and get no pay or useful feedback.
Costs YouTube gives no gear or supplies. It does not repay your costs. Count the full cost before you start.
Video state Send it as unlisted. If selected, do not edit it for 180 days. Do not use a cut you expect to change soon.
Public use A selected video may go public. It will often need to stay live for at least 180 days. The post may take real space on your channel.
Ad use For 180 days, the brand gets a global, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable ad license on Google ad tools. The set fee buys more than one Short.
Image and edits The license can cover your name, face, voice, words, handles, marks, and endorsement on YouTube ad tools. The brand can add product links or brand facts. Make sure you want the brand to use both the work and your identity this way.
Other apps You cannot post the selected work on another platform for 180 days. You cannot reuse the same video on TikTok, Instagram, or another app during that time.
Pay Only selected work gets paid. AdSense pays within 60 days after the brand selects it. The shown fee is not pay for making the first cut. It depends on selection.

"Royalty-free" does not mean the first fee is zero. It means no more royalty is due for the use named in the terms.

The project fee must cover the work, the risk of no pick, and the 180-day rights pack.

This guide is for education, not legal advice. If the rights can harm your business or clash with another deal, ask a lawyer to read the live terms.

YouTube gives two rules on music

YouTube's own pages do not match.

The creator guide says to use approved sounds. It points to royalty-free music in the YouTube Audio Library.

The program rules say an Open Call ad may not use any music. That rule still applies if the brand asks for music.

Do not guess. Follow the stricter rule and use no music. Only change that if YouTube gives you a current written answer for your project.

Should you send an Open Call video?

We would not make unpaid test work just because a brief is there. It can still make sense. You may want that brand enough to take the chance.

Think about it when:

  • you can get and test the product with ease;
  • a lost bid will not cost much time or cash;
  • the fee is fair for both the work and rights;
  • you are fine with 180 days of ad use;
  • you are fine with the limit on other apps;
  • a public post fits your channel; and
  • the brief does not ask for claims you cannot prove.

Pass when the work is heavy or the product needs a long test. Pass when the fee ignores the rights. Pass when the license clashes with another deal. Pass when you would not want the selected video tied to your channel for 180 days.

Open Call may be useful. It is built to help brands source at scale. Part of that ease comes from moving production and selection risk to creators. Read it with clear eyes.

Make yourself easier to choose

Turn on data sharing if you are at ease with the listed fields. Fix the contact route. Use the few Media Kit picks to show what your channel does well. Then stop trying to crack a rank system YouTube has not shared.

You do not need the most enquiries. You need better talks with brands that can help your fans and build a deal worth renewing.

If deal work now pulls you away from the channel, you can apply to work with Creators Agency. Our whole team is made up of creators. You still make the last call on each offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can brands find me if channel insights sharing is off?

Yes. YouTube says eligible creators can still be found through public data. They can still get enquiries. The switch is off by default. Turning it on gives approved users more channel facts.

What data can channel insights sharing show?

YouTube lists channel results, public facts and contacts, audience data, and Shopping results. See the full list in its channel insights guide .

Can I write a custom profile bio in Creator Partnerships?

YouTube's public guide does not list a free-form sales bio in the tool. It does list a Media Kit, fee fields, and a second work contact. Use your channel bio, Media Kit picks, real work, and replies to explain your value.

How many Media Kit picks can I make?

You can pick up to four videos on each video card. You can pick up to five categories on each category card. You can also hide a card and save the kit as a PDF.

Will a lower desired rate help me rank?

YouTube does not list desired rate as a rank factor. Set a fee you can explain. Price the real work, rights, timing, and proof once a brand sends a full ask.

Does clicking Interested take the deal?

No. It shares your contact facts. You and the brand still need to agree on the work, fee, rights, and contract.

Is brand partner access part of every sponsor deal?

No. It shares video data and may turn on ad use. Match the data and paid-use grant to the signed deal before you accept.

Does an Open Call invite mean I have paid work?

No. The program is invite-only, but the brand still selects among videos. Work that is not selected gets no pay. The brand does not have to give feedback.

Can I post a selected Open Call video on TikTok or Instagram?

Not for 180 days under the current terms. They block a selected video from all third-party apps in that time.

Can I use YouTube Audio Library music for Open Call?

YouTube's two pages clash. One allows approved Audio Library sounds. The program rules ban all music. Use no music unless YouTube gives you a current written answer for that brief.

Is Open Call the same as YouTube Shopping?

No. Open Call pays a set fee only when a brand selects your work. It also comes with ad rights. YouTube Shopping pays eligible creators a cut of qualifying sales from tagged products. Our YouTube Shopping guide explains that plan.
